what i got at the thrift store

i use to go to thrift stores and estate sales all the time...but eventually i accumulated enough stuff so i quit going...last saturday the husband had to return something to tuesday morning...there is a church based thrift store right next door and i've always wondered what they carried so saturday i stopped in and SCORED!

vintage sheet, $1
glass domed cheese plate (?), $3
professionally framed chicago post card, $3

i have a vision for the glass domed cheese plate...for sure i'm going to paint the plate...and maybe add a funky new knob on top...mainly this is going to be a display piece...think adorable christmas ornament nestled inside...

all over the internets i've seen people use vintage sheets for everything from quilts to clothes...this is a full flat...lots of fabric! it's in perfect condition...i'm making some wide leg lounge pants for sure...and maybe trying those pj's again...for $1 i've got nothing to lose...

lastly, we couldn't believe the luck in finding the chicago print...that print was in every store we went in when we were visiting chicago last month...and we purchased a different print (the 'avoid street congestion' one above) while we were there...so, i'm going to have it similarly framed and hang them as a set!

i have some craft items to donate and this particular store had a craft section! yippee! i think i may start checking it out often (cause i need more stuff, right?)...

have you scored any great deals lately?

How perfect to find the Chicago postcard at home! I wanted a plate in Nassau, but they were all "too new", I decided to look for a vintage plate here in the thrift stores! Still looking.....

I like the way the postcard is framed. You sure did get a good find with those items. I wish I could find a place to donate some craft items.
