interesting facts (so far) about our trip to chicago:

  •  these 2 were seated 2 rows behind us on the plane...bonus points if you even know who they are...as you may recall, last year in LA i saw this guy at a taco stand one day at lunch...clearly i am a famous person magnet
  • over the weekend, 51 people were shot here in chicago...luckily i wasn't one of them
  • the red line also caught on fire on sunday (note to self: do not get on the EL)
  • i am pretty sure i heard the sirens for all 51 shootings and the subway fire

  • there are lots of tall buildings here
  • downtown chicago is a very bustling/active place
  • i do not care for chicago style pizza
  • i could eat my weight in garrett's popcorn
  • berry chill is no substitute for pink berry
  • there is a 7-11 every seven steps
  • a barefoot, homeless  man hobbled all the way up michigan ave yesterday to oak street beach...the sad part? we saw him the entire time so we must walk at the same pace as a barefoot, homeless man

  • last nite i saw (the same?) a homeless man FALL out on the corner of michigan ave and randolph street and roll around...it was weird...everyone just walked around him
  • everyday the weather forecast calls for massive rain and severe thunderstorms...so far we've only seen a sprinkle one morning...thank you mother nature
  • i could get lost in the state street macy's
  • billy goat tavern serves a good hamburger...but no fries, only chips
  • there is not enough money in the world for me to go up in the sears tower and walk out on a skydeck

AHAHAHAHAHA! You account of Chicago so far is absolutely entertaining! It's so funny to hear an "outsider" account... to be honest, I don't know that I even hear sirens anymore... and, the el catches fire nearly weekly, it's usually nothing to worry about. :-D I hope you're having fun and getting in some good shopping!

I'm terrified of heights, but I went up the Sears Tower and walked on the skydeck. You CAN do it. It's well worth overcoming your fear for a few minutes.

OMG OMG!!! I know who they are! I watched the show when they were auditioning etc. SO COOL! They were so good together. I never finished the show, so are they popular in the US now? I should look for some of their music.

So cool.

Oh yeah..there is NO way I'd do tht skydeck thing. Hancock Bldg has the best view though if you are thinking of going up just to see the view.
