i made aprons all weekend and you?

remember way back when we cleared out the great aunt's house and i found that stash of vintage aprons? well  i got them all cleaned up and nicely pressed and wear them on pretty much a daily basis ...some of them are so interesting that i decided to try to make patterns from them and then make more aprons...this weekend i finished the first one and started another...here is the original vintage apron:

and a close up view of the awsome huge pocket (4 total pocket compartments):

the apron is easily made, thin bias tape binds all the edges save for the waist and ties...sooo after tracing the pattern out on pattern paper i took fabric that AM sent me in a recent package, chose some coordinating binding, looked at a how to sew bias tape without cursing youtube video and went to it...it was really easy and here is the result:

complete with the 4 compartment pocket:

but i wasn't the first to 'try it out'...

tyler declares it's just as good as the original!
i have started a 'smock' style apron that i hope to finish up tonite and cut out an apron from a pattern that i purchased online...

more of what i did all weekend tomorrow...
