chat noir très petit ~ chat noir malfaisant

miss sophie went to the vet saturday morning for her annual checkup...she has a 'reputation' at the vet...it's somehow marked on her chart in vetspeak...FOUR techs picked up her chart and put.it.back.down and walked away before someone had the nerve to take her on...

what? me? do i look like a mean kitty?
said BRAVE vet tech was able to (just barely) take her temperature and weigh her...she weighs 8.35 pounds...
not that innocent
then the vet came in...a male vet...and she went berserk...he got a VERY good look at her fangs...and that's about it...2 shots were quickly injected and that entailed sophie biting her daddy, who was attempting to scruff her so she couldn't lunge at the vet, on the hand...hard..2 puncture wounds...he bled...the vet was petrified of her...i'm not making that up...he was afraid of a tiny, black, 8 pound cat...
we discussed options on obtaining blood and urine to do a senior wellness check on her...kady did this back in the spring and they said she was "such a good girl" when they took her in the back and got the samples...tyler went a month or so ago and they were able to get the blood but he pitched a FIT when they attempted to get urine, so that part didn't happen with him...
soooooooo, the vet said they'd take her back and try...sometimes, he said, when the cat is away from it's owner it will 'act nicer'...PFFFT, yeah right...the vet tech brought her back within mere minutes...looked totally freaked out...tossed sophie on the exam table...and ran out of the room saying they couldn't do it...sophie started 'mouth breathing' (whatever that is) so they stopped...
i wonder if they'll even let her back in the building next year???

ps: today is sophie and kady's NINTH 'birthday'...i can hardly believe we've had these 2 babies for nine years...we love them bunches!

Ian mouth breathes at night. It's gross.

LOL! They probably have her face posted on some bullentin board there now with some sort of Warning. One of my friends has an older female cat that acts similar to that at the vet. They usually have to muzzle her.

Happy birthday to them both!

I hate taking Lola to the vet...she freaks out whenever they get close to her ears. It's not a pretty sight!

I love Tammy's comment! LOL! Boo Kitty mouth breathes, but I don't know what it means. It's kinda scary looking cause he'll open his mouth like he's showing his fangs...I figured it was either to look more threatening or to try and smell better. But, he's really laid back about it and sometimes just walks around the house that way. So, I wonder why the techs would be scared of that?? Poor Sophie!! (And your poor husband!!)

Swampgirl had a male cat once and I took him to the vet to get "fixed". When they brought him back to me the next day, they said that they were sorry but he could not come there again. The cat hated everyone but us. He would bite my MIL and loved to hear her squeal. I love cats. They are so interesting and especially my lovely Lilly.

Your cat is beautiful.

Cheers,
