more vintage finds..

spent last evening at the great aunt's again...cleaning out some chest of drawers and closets...found some super cute things including these too VERY fragile chenille easter chicks:

they are so cute!
there are lots of 'old' linens scattered about too but a lot of them have 'old' stains on them...i picked up these 4 napkins last nite:

i think they will look good with my fiestaware dishes...a wise woman gave me some advice on getting the stains out...i forsee a loooooooooooong soak for these lovelies!

some christmas decor was downstairs in various drawers and closets...the majority of it is still in the attic but there's just too much scattered about the house right now to drag more things down...i thought these 2 pair of swirly candles were funky:

BUT......

i literally hit the JACKPOT last nite in the very bottom drawer of a chest of drawers that is destined to become our new 46" flatscreen tv stand*...

five of them are full aprons, mainly a 'smock' style like those that my great grandmother always wore...i put 'my favorite one' on immediately and wore it the restof the nite...it was fabulous

the remaining 13 are just classic half aprons some cotton, some 'chiffon' but all so so cute:

these are the 3 christmas ones:

there are stains on most all of them...i'm going to start cleaning them tonite and then i think i'll post a picture a week of me modeling them**...watcha think?

~k

*we haven't gotten the tv yet...it's just a plan...but it's happening soon...
** i fully intend to wear these aprons all.the.time...just call me june cleaver...i'm fine with it

Love the finds! Yes, show a photo of one apron a week! Also, one "love letter" per week! Heck, that's two days of posting done! Can't wait to see what else you come up with!

Oh, yes! We need to see you model them- you could do a month of aprons. Don't forget the heels and pearls!! What a treasure you found!

That is some cool stuff! I want to see the husband model the apron with the fish on it. It's manly! It's what you wear when you're filleting your fresh catch!

Wow, what a great find. Martha Stewart would love that! Please do model them. Going through those drawers would just be delightful.

Can't wait to see the aprons on! I definitely agree that heels and pearls would make the pictures complete! Are they handmade by the great aunt?
