saturday sojourn...

important announcement: these pictures downloaded in the REVERSE order i wanted them....and i'm not feeling like redoing them...so go to the last picture and read your way up, please

we just finished up dinner here...we ate here with norman's people back in the summer...then we ate outside...tonite we ate inside way in the back room where there was a large stone fireplace complete with a roaring fire...more wineries tomorrow...complete details monday...

a winery dog...he was being lazy

we visited a winery in downtown mt. airy for the first time...mt. airy, nc is the home of andy griffith and he based mayberry from the andy griffith show on it...it's a cute little town and there were lots of tourists checking out snappy lunch and the barber shop

but soon after arriving near the first winery the clouds started breaking and it turned into a beautiful fall day...the leaves are turning and color was everywhere...that's pilot mountain in the distance...

this was the drive this morning...god awful...near zero visibility on i-40...'M' slept most of the drive so she missed this part!

You practically drove by my home in Kernersville to get to Rt.52 going up to Mt.Airy. Another winery in this general area is Childress and also, you may be interested in the Timberlake Gallery in Lexington. There is outstanding bbq in Lexington. Another winery is Chateau Morrisette off the Blue Ridge Pkwy.and Rt.52. Great food there. Nice that you got to see Norman's family. Know you had a great time. The Bloggy gals are great gals.

I remember driving to Flordia from Boston and going through the Blueridge Mountains, I could barely see the car in front of me. Glad the day cleared up and yall had a good time.
