new storage in mantown!

i have got a lot of junk in the attic! exhibit a:

and it's taking up WAY too much of the husband's we've been contemplating opening up a hole in the wall in mantown and accessing some eave space...last friday the husband made the initial cut in the drywall and by sunday nite we had this:

a lovely new mdf door that will soon be painted the same color as the wall...below notice the routing detail he made on the door edge:
after cutting out one wall stud and taking out the existing insulation, the husband framed out the opening, floored the area, wired in a light and switch, made the door and attached it with european hinges, we have space:
below is an prime example of what happens when you don't 'measure twice/cut once' or know what you are doing...needless to say, euro hinges are complicated:
i wasted NO time filling my new space with are the boxes that all the halloween decor was in:
here are some decorative items that were displaced by halloween:
i am thrilled to have my new space to fill with junk! sophie is chomping at the bit to get in the new space and run around!
tonite i'm going to buy more junk...tomorrow sophie reveals the details of her vet visit...

great job! it would take a year for a project like that to be completed at our house. that's what happens when two procrastinators marry.

Thank ya'll for the kind words. Those pictures are a little deceiving. There is close to 45 square feet of space in that cubbie but K's pics make it look like it's barely enough to hold those 2 boxes.
