weekend update ~ beads, beads, beads

wow, really i think 5 minutes ago it was friday afternoon and now it's monday...where did my weekend go? i want my weekend back!

friday after work we took the requisite trip to the grocery and then went to in-laws church to hang pictures...our 'payment' for the husband's services rendered was dinner at chickfila.

saturday morning i headed downtown to the local bead store's parking lot for a handcrafted flea market type event...there was also a bead trunk show going on inside the bead store...the owner of the store was getting rid of/selling some of her display items and i saw these 2 'things' that were my favorite price:

i have no idea what they are (my parents think they were part of a sewing machine cabinet) but as soon as i saw them i thought: wine rack! so when i got home from the sweltering heat that was the handcrafter's market i turned them over to the husband...more on that later...

i got some supplies from the bead store
and 10 strands of beads from the trunk show
and this little 'purse' from one of the vendors
i spent the rest of the day making a pair of earrings and matching bracelet to wear to an event saturday evening...and i forgot to take a picture of the finished product...
jewelry making is a messy venture for me!
saturday nite we went to a silent auction to benefit a local animal rescue group...my boss purchased a table so several of my co-workers were there...at each table seat was a goodie bag with a bottle of wine, burt's bees dog soap (?) and a set of 2 dvds/cds...we also got to take all of the tablescape so i took the colorful 'bowl'...

there was a pretty oil painting i had my eye on but there was a lot of fuchsia and pinks on it so the husband didn't care too much for it...when the bid jumped from $50 to $150 i decided the nice set of burt's bees products above would be my purchase for the evening! there was a wii also but we didn't bid on it...
sunday my goal was to not leave the house all day...i did laundry, cleaned, vacuumed, and made earrings that i put in my etsy shop...the husband finished making my wine racks from my free find:

he made a slot for the bottle to rest in out of wood that was down the center of each 'opening'

for dinner i roasted zucchini, mushrooms and tomatoes from our garden and served it over whole wheat pasta:

tasted way better than it looks!

i finished up the weekend watching a netflix dvd: cranford the series, disc one...i love judi dench but think anyone who enjoys masterpiece theatre or period movies would like cranford...i hope to finish disc one tonite so i can get the other disc this week...

Those beads are pretty...I like the coral and green ones together. that little purse is too cute. I can see you making those. It would be cute to make those like a little pouch to put the jewelry in to send to the purchasers from esty.
