wednesday house tour

today is the last day for wednesday house tours...we finish up on the third floor in 'mantown'...last time i showed you the piece of furniture at the top of the stairs...if you turn right, this is the view...oh, and i was messing with the new camera so these pictures are rather, ummmm, bad (for instance the walls are really a medium denim blue, not bright blue).

that's the husband's chair and the entertainment center that holds his desktop computer...you can also see at the far right of the picture a table and 2 chairs...the theme of mantown is sports so we found sporty decorative-type stuff for decorating at all sorts of places like tjmaxx or even goodwill...

here's another view of the chair...the antique skis i snagged off of e-bay...it was hard as another bidder wanted them too...i managed to win them at the last second.

another view of the table and chairs...the table belonged to the husband's grandmother and we refinished it...i got the 2 chairs at goodwill at two separate times and painted them matching black and recovered the seats in leopard print fabric...we got the 'yawkey way' sign in boston...the upright wooden tennis racket belonged to my mom in high school (the other one is from goodwill) and the 'letter' is the husband's from high school (i framed it in a shadowbox).

here is the matching entertainment center to the computer one...it holds the tv.

this chair i've had since before we were even married...sophie sleeps in it at night while the husband is watching tv...the fabric covered table covers the surround sound's bass part or something another...we had the 2 sports mickey mouse pictures drawn during trips to disney world...we made the lamp from an old jack daniels bottle...

this sofa is older than dirt but it's very comfortable and is a great sleeping sofa...i plan on getting it recovered this year...the coffee table was a thrift store find but we had to refinish it.

the final frontier is this area to the left of the top of the stairs...it was a closet but we removed the door and cased it out...it's going to be a wet bar at some point in time...there is a small refrigerator in there but we still have to make a cabinet and install a sink/faucet (which the husband got for christmas last year)...also there is a door to your left in there that goes into the attic/the husband's work table where he keeps all of his tools...

so that's it for our house! i hope y'all have enjoyed the wednesday house tours. when i decorate for christmas i'll show it again...until then, next week is 'inquiring minds wanted to know' so please email me your questions as so far, i've only gotten one! i will still answer random questions that come up during the week then too.

happy wednesday...we are almost to the weekend!

I have loved the Wednesday house tours! LOVED! Your husband is awfully lucky to have a Man Room. I love that green color where the wet bar will be. Does he entertain up there? Are you allowed to hang out up there?

What did he letter in?

I got a letter back in high school....For scoring above 1000 on the SAT. Pretty nerdy to get a letter for that...

that is the perfect den-type room. The husband here would love that. the old couch looks so comfortable. I can't wait to see what you pick to recover it with. Do the cats like to go up there and sit? I can imagine one of them sitting on top of the table by the window snoozing. Your house is lovely and I enjoyed seeing everything.

I lettered in basketball and band. Whenver 'M' comes over for a movie, we watch up there. The TV that K hid is 36" and not so long ago was state of the art. Now, 'm jonesing for an HDTV. The room also has surround sound - you can see one of the speakers on the far right of Sophie's chair. Her and Tyler are up there with me most nights. K has to get a pass to come up and I don't hand those out very often. ;-) Also, the Cheers box is actually a dart board.

My husband would also like a Sports / "Man Room" as he calls it. You've given me a few ideas I plan to use if we ever move into a larger home!

*raises hand* I lettered in band too.

In high school, I played snare drum. I was also in the marching band for 2 years at East Carolina University and played bass drum. It was TONS of fun but way too much work for just 1 credit hour. What were everyone else's instruments?
