wednesday house tour

the tour continues today in the master bedroom 'suite' (i like to pretend)...below is the view from the hall looking into the room...

turning to the left, my nightstand which is really an antique desk type of thing...the stool underneath is an old seamstress stool that i got from a local store that went out of business (the husband and i refinished it and recovered the removable top, inside the seamstress would store her supplies to take with her to the fitting rooms to do alterations)...my trusty laptop sits on the stool...

here is the bed with the very recently finished headboard...i took the down duvet off a couple of weeks ago for the summer months...the pyramid pillow at the end is a reading pillow, you just rest the book on it and it's at a perfect angle for reading in bed.

the chandelier in our bedroom...perhaps my favorite chandelier in the entire house...

the husband's nightstand...see the noaa weather radio on the bottom shelf??? that's cause i'm super afraid of storms...it beeps really loud when there are storm warnings.
the sun shines on the front of the house in the afternoons so this picture is not so good...it's the husband's desk which is another antique we acquired from my parent's house...it's rather primitive and the slant top lifts up to reveal all manner of storage space for your desk supplies.
continuing around the room, here is the husbands chest of drawers (? i can never remember the proper names of bedroom furniture) which is a piece from an entire set of furniture that members of his family have...it needs refinishing in a bad way...our pet beta fish 'snark IV' lives in the aquarium on top...the white plastic rings on the drawer knobs are sophie's toys...she gets up there every morning as soon as the husband gets out of the shower and starts pulling them off with her paws and teeth and tossing them in the air or dropping them on the floor...i'm going to let her join the circus one day as she is very talented...on the floor in the corner is the cat's hammock that their grandmother gave them one year for christmas...i'm not sure if anyone sleeps in it anymore...i think charlie may occasionally...

this is the entertainment center which houses our television/dvd player/etc...sophie can jump from the chest of drawers to on top of the entertainment center...tyler can do it if you put him on the chest of drawers first ...he hasn't figured out how to get up there by himself yet...

and in the final corner is a bench i got from the salvation army and refinished/refurbished...again, a bad bad picture...

you can see it a bit better here...

and finally back around to the entry...the closed door is my closet...the door with my purse hanging on it (i just switched out purses again) is the door to the room...and under the picture is the kids 'upstairs food station' complete with art work for them to enjoy!

next week the tour will continue into our closets and that will finish the second floor...then it's up to the third floor for 'mantown'...

I just love the color of the walls. What color is that exactly, it looks like a cranberry in the photos. I really like the bench too. Anxious to hear about "mantown". lol!

The wall color is similar to what we have in our dining room. I love how you have it decorated, very nice and love your desk/night stand.

There's a 3rd floor?? Wow. How many coats of paint did that take? I love the bench and the little dress form with green sash. MY husband's dresser is similar to your husband's. And needs to be refinished or something.

LOVE the chandalier. And what is that thing plugged in next to the cat hamock?

Your room is so pretty. The colors and the chandelier are so pretty. I love all the Disney things you have in there! Do the cats play with the stuff toys on the bed? The two-seater bench is great!
