inquiring minds wanted to know...

i realize i've been negligent about answering some questions that have come up in the comments...i plead temporary stress as i was worried about 'M' and her impending surgery for the past few, well, months...now that that's all over i can no longer use that as an excuse...so without further ado and in no particular order:

  1. sarah asked about the pomegranate wine...why yes, it is a super food (i'm having glasses of it right now) and the wine does have all the same antioxidants as pom juice. what i'm drinking is made here in north carolina by chatham hill winery...i got mine at a wine event we went to back in february. here is the website and there are a couple of articles about the pomegranate wine on there too! sarah, next time you come to nc, i think they sell it in charlotte...

  2. rpm asked about the king arthur flour in my cupboard...well, i got that bag at trader joe's...i think that's the only kind of flour they had...can i tell a difference? no, but i like to think it's better ;-)...also, the 'things' separating my fiestaware and preventing scratches are felt circles that i meticulously cut out when we bought the dishes. they do scratch very badly especially the light yellow ones...other than that i LOVE my fiestaware.

  3. ***willowandbelle's mom*** thinks we have the same fridge...yes, mine is a ge profile stainless side by side but i think the door handle is different than yours...i like your handles better.

  4. AM liked the half shelf in our fridge...actually that shelf slides out to be a full shelf...but i like to slide it back so i have room for tall things like milk...and wine! the soda holder came with it...and now we rarely even drink sodas (even though there were some in there, we drink less than 1 per person per week) so it's a waste really. i think that you can buy similar soda holders that would just sit on a shelf at organizational stores like this. also, AM wondered what the 'egg nog' stuff was in our fridge...it's egg nog pancake mix from williams sonoma left over from january...hope it keeps in the fridge...crosses fingers...

  5. AM asked LAST week about the pocket door in our master bath...yes, we (ok, the husband and my father) installed it...it was 'doable' because there weren't any electrical switches or sockets in that wall...it did involve tearing out the sheetrock on the bedroom side, installing the pocket door (it's a kit from lowes) and then putting sheetrock back up...but it was totally worth it as the original door just wasted space and got in the way. it's one of the best things we've ever done in our house. also, she asked about the beadboard ceiling...we put it up before the crown molding...without the crown, it's rather rough around the edges so to speak! our bathroom only required 2 sheets of beadboard. the husband completely painted it (primer, 2 finish coats) before we glued/nailed it up. he filled the nail holes and touched up the paint and then installed the crown to finish it off.

i hope that answers everyone's questions...i think i can squeeze 4 more weeks out of wednesday house tours...after that i am considering having 'inquiring minds wanted to know' wednesdays...so in order to do that i need y'all to start asking questions...please submit your questions to me via email (see sidebar for email) and i'll start working on posts!

thanks!

Thanks for answering the questions! I am so very bad about answering questions in comments. I should do a post of answers...I need to make some cut-outs for my china. Great idea.

Thanks so much for the info!! I just checked out the site for the wine, and I have to ask...is it worth $12? What can I say...I'm cheap. Plus shipping to another state is $14. They also have a sweet blackberry that I bet is super good!!
