'you're the one that i want'

yes, i've got 'grease' songs on my mind today as we are going to see the n.c. theatre's production of 'grease' tonite. i've seen the n.c. theatre do 'grease' twice and i've seen it once in london somewhere in the theatre district...we were just wandering around and up pops a theatre doing 'grease' so we bought tickets and went later that nite. the husband loves it and knows pretty much every song/word/line by heart...i suspect he will be singing along tonite!

we've got another insanely busy weekend ahead (what's new?)...saturday morning kady has to go to the vet for her yearly check-up...even though she was born there she hates going back...she usually pees her pants when we put her in the soft carrier to transport her. then she is so nervous/trembling while we are there...i feel sorry for her and am dreading it so much. after we get her back home we are heading downtown to artsplosure which is a art festival/street faire that is held annually in may at a square in our downtown. there is so much going on here this weekend that unfortunately we cannot do everything...for instance there is also the 2nd annual tour d'coop downtown tour of raleigh's urban chicken coops. yep, that's regular folks living downtown who happen to be raising chickens in the backyard. i would love to go see some of them! there is also the 3rd annual downtown raleigh home tour. i'd love to live downtown but it's gotten way too pricey! we should have bought a house there when we were first looking to buy 8 or 9 years ago. now we'd have to win the lottery to be able to live there. also on saturday the spca is having a special 40th anniversary party and 'barkitecture' event where local builders/architects/designers have made special dog houses which are going to be auctioned off after a reception. unfortunately we just don't have time to go to those 3 events but as you can see, raleigh is currently a happening place! i just wish they wouldn't schedule so many things on the same day.

after artsplosure we are going to the grocery store and then home to finish planting all of the annuals that i got last weekend at home depot and hopefully get the side yard weeded (again) and mulched. later we are going to 'M's to make her padded headboard for her guest room.

sunday afternoon i'm taking a painting class at michaels that i'm very excited about.

at some point i've got to squeeze in cleaning my house, ironing, doing the laundry and making something for our lunches next week! phew, i'm tired just talking about it...

have a great weekend, y'all!

Wow, I'm tired just reading what you have planned. Makes me feel guilty that I don't do hardly anything! That all sounds fun. Raleigh sounds like a really nice place to live. Have fun and show pics when you can!

What a busy weekend! My husband loves Grease too, knowing practically every line as well. How funny.
The street fair sounds like fun! We had a barkitecture event here too not long ago. I think the funds (or a portion of ?) went to the county animal shelter.

Wow, you do have a lot of great choices for how to spend the day. That barkitechture thing sounds really cool.

What do you usually make for your lunches?
