wednesday house tour - special edition

welcome to the beach!! here is the first thing you see when you walk in the door:

this unit is co-owned by the husband's parents and a group of partners...we get this condo twice per quarter/8 weeks a year...here below is the kitchen...
the dining table and you can just catch a glimpse of one of the 3 bar stools at the counter between the kitchen and dining area...and further past the table is the edge of the sofa...
here is the sofa and beyond it is the 3 said bar stools...the main area is one big open space which makes for a nice airy feeling...there are windows looking out onto the balcony and ocean on the entire front end of the condo...so you can literally be any where in the kitchen, dining area or den and see/hear the water...
a chair and ottoman in the den...it's actually comfortable...
the tv armoire and other chair in den...there are 5 tv's in this condo...which makes for no fighting over what we are going to watch...so it's all good!
this is the king size wicker sleigh bed in the master bedroom...the bedding just got replaced by one of the other partners...it's pretty...but the bed is awful...last october i slept a lot of nites on the sofa cause my back was killing me...so we are letting the in-laws sleep in here when they get here today...
the tv and dresser in the master...there is also a set of sliding glass doors to the balcony in here...which i miss in the room we are sleeping in...
this is one of the middle rooms...it's yellow and blue and reminds me of kady's room back home a little bit...one of the partners is a seamstress and she just made the bedding and curtains...i hate the curtains cause the big one in the back doesn't open...that whole window area is a 'pop-out' of the condo and you can be in bed and see the ocean...pretty neat...which is why this is our favorite bedroom...it's the only one of the four that doesn't have it's own bath...it shares with the room coming up...
this is the dresser in the yellow room...all the furniture in here is typical white wicker beach condo furniture...the tv is sort of little...but at least you can escape to your room and watch whatever the heck you want!
this is the bathroom that the yellow room and upcoming red room share...the red room has a door in it to the bath...the yellow room occupants have to enter it from the hall...i call it the monkey room cause the wallpaper is all monkeys...the other 2 bathrooms are rather mundane so i didn't photograph them...they lack monkey wallpaper...
this is the red room...it is the only room with twin beds and NO ONE likes to sleep in here cause it's so tiny. its does, however, have a huge walk in closet??? sometimes when the niece/nephews are here we put their pac-in-plays in the walk in closet for them to sleep in...
this is the front master bedroom...it has it's own bathroom and queen size bed...'M' sleeps in here when she comes to the beach with us...we always give this room to our guests as it's the furthest away from the living area so it's fairly quiet...
the dresser...the furniture in here is pretty...
well...that's the beach condo...next week it's back to the regular scheduled programming!

That condo is so big and pretty. It's decorated very pretty. It must be so nice to have that kind of arrangement with other people and 8 weeks is a great amount of time. Tell me those curtains that don't open are not blocking a beach view...

yes y'all it's a BIG condo but get about 6 adults and 2 or 3 kids in here and it be raining cats and dogs outside and suddenly it's tiny! rpm, the curtains that don't open block the view of the condo next door (about 10 feet away, it seems) the ones on the side which pull back are where you can see the water. thankfully. although i'l like to rip them all down...yesterday we had the back window open and the screens have gone missing and one of the panels was sucked out the window! i wish it had flown down the street...oops!

Girlville, you are too funny! I guess someone would not be too happy to come for their week and see them gone?? I guess that would be a good room for someone with a very bad headache to be shut in with no light!
