blogging from the beach day five

sorry to be posting about day five so late y'all...but you know...near the sea we forget to count the days...

yesterday dawned to be overcast and cool...both the husband and 'M' had items that needed to be returned to some stores at the outlets (perhaps trying things on is a good idea...) so the three of us along with the husband's mother headed back over there before lunch. we ended up staying about two hours as there were a couple of stores we didn't go in before. i got 3 more t-shirts and a skirt that 'M' had gotten from old navy outlet (we like to match...no, not really just have the same taste i guess) and two more pairs of shoes from clarks. their shoes are very comfortable but at the outlet are considerably less expensive than say getting a pair of my beloved danskos. also, another tip if you ever come here to myrtle beach...there are these coupon booklets and little guides to the area all over the place...pick one up! there is a coupon to the outlet in there to get a free coupon booklet...usually these are $5...they yield a TON of additional savings.

we came back from shopping for lunch and had leftovers as we are trying to eat up all the food we brought with us!

after lunch the four of us (the husband's father stayed behind to read) went to a winery not far from here named la belle amie which is french for 'the beautiful friend'. please go visit their website and click on the 'about us' tab and the 'bella's page' tab to see more of this wonderful place!!

below is a virtual tour of the winery and grounds...we knew before we went that bella the dog would greet us with her tennis ball and sure enough, there she was at the front steps...

bella also had a sister 'aime'

bella really loves her tennis ball!

above is a dragonfly bench!! i want one...there were several lovely places to sit and relax...you could buy a glass of wine for $5 or they had bottles in the chiller...we were encouraged to come back sometime and bring our own picnic...today they are having one of their festivals that they have throughout the year...we may go back to it...
bella and aime went with us on our self-guided walking tour of the grounds...tennis ball went too!

the farm use to be a tobacco farm and cotton was grown there as well...the owners provided us with a 'map' for our tour which was nice...

the grapes were very tiny!

this is one of the original muscadine vines...perhaps rpm's vine that she is going to plant will soon look like this one!
aime decided to chase some ducks into the duck pond....

it was a lovely day! perhaps someday y'all can visit it too!
we returned to the condo and read until dinner...'M' and i fixed breakfast for dinner and i didn't take any pictures...so sorry!
i finished another book and today hope to make headway into 'friday nite knitting club'
more later...

The winery is beautiful and that dragonfly bench has your name all over it! Good for you for more bargain shopping too.

Wow, that place is beautiful! I love it when dogs have a job or get to go to their parents' job. I know they must have loved having you all pay them attention and throw the ball. Looks like your husband really enjoyed them. That dragon fly bench is so pretty. I need to get my hubby to construct an arbor thingy. Thanks for showing that vine.
