wednesday house tour ~ part one updated

last week i said we would continue the tour in the powder room, but the husband thought the powder room would be boring following the rather bland and boring foyer/entry...so...i bring you the kitchen instead:
view from entry hall into kitchen

table and armoire that holds dishes and glasses

opening on left goes back to entry hall...opening on right goes into family room

corner of island on left with the yellow rooster...

here is the picture i deleted this morning by mistake...it shows the kids eating area and to the right the husband's piece of furniture...door to side porch is to left blocked by fridge...

tour continues below...as in next post down...

I love the wall color and the contrast with the lemons on the table, very pretty.

You really are a great decorator. What is your inspiration? OTher people? Magazines? How do you come up with your ideas?

I hope you are feeling better today!

am, thank you. i get inspiration from being nosy (looking at other people's houses, going on house tours, going to open houses even when we aren't looking to buy a house), southern living magazine, shows on hgtv and just whatever pleases my eye. oh, and i'm feeling much better today and you?
